The one place Echuca 1 undoubtedly had the running was the singles rubbers and Nick Bush and Jack Byrne claimed both for their side, by 12 games to 5.

LBU v Rochester
Although both teams would have liked a few more wins under their belt at this stage of the competition, the Rochester-LBU clash was one of the more nail-biting games of the season.
Lockington Bamawm United won more sets on its home courts, but it was Rochester that got away with the games victory, 6-80 to 7-76.
Lachlan Smith battled hard in the singles to post a 7-6 win, Rochy also claiming victory in the other singles.
The men’s doubles was a different story, with LBU taking two of three fixtures, but Rochester earned more games over the three sets, going down 8-6 and 8-5, but prevailing 8-1.
Ian Haines featured in both the LBU victories.
LBU looked to move into the ascendancy in the women’s doubles, winning three of four sets.
Katie Condliffe and Lois Toohey were the form pairing for the host, winning their set 8-3, while the pair separately participated in LBU’s other wins.
Rochester managed to cling to its games lead when it split the mixed doubles 2-2.
LBU won more games over the four sets, but Rochy had built a strong enough lead to still come out on top.
James Brentnall and Cadence Major were the strongest performers in the mixed for Rochy, winning 8-3.
Rochester (2-4) and LBU (0-6) lag significantly after two cycles through the competition.
This Saturday, Rochester will host Echuca 2, while LBU welcomes Echuca 1.
