Echuca continues to be the dominant force in this year’s Campaspe Tennis Association, with Rochester and Lockington-Bamawm United struggling to keep up at the weekend at Echuca Tennis Club.

The defending champion, Rochy, couldn’t get anything going in the second grand final rematch of the season, taking only a single set against Echuca 2.

Josh Boyd and Logan Milnes started things powerfully for Echuca on its home courts, scoring 6-1 singles wins.
Echuca also cleaned up the men’s doubles 3-0, Chris Potter pairing with Josh Boyd and Phil Higgins for two 8-0 shutouts.

Karen Taylor and Cadence Major would prove the lone bright spark for Rochester, taking their women’s doubles set 8-4.
Echuca returned to dominance from then on, Phil and Lucy Higgins pairing for another 8-0 result, and the host would go on to claim all the remaining sets.
The final scorecard had Echuca 2 on top 12-96 to 1-34.

Echuca 1 v LBU
LBU fared slightly better against Echuca 1, but still found itself well beaten, 11-92 to 2-55.

Jack Byrne and Nick Bush built momentum early with singles wins and Echuca continued to roll through the men’s doubles, winning all three.
Bush and Steve Rawlings proved a devastating pairing, winning a perfect 8-0.

The women’s doubles finally brought some joy for LBU, as Melissa Haines and Lois Toohey came out on top 8-4 to put the visitor on the board.
However, the result was already beyond doubt and Echuca continued to dominate, claiming three of the four mixed doubles to run away as big winners.
