Rochester Bowls Club
Bendigo VRI Bowls club has ceased to exist and generously invited us to consider taking their unwanted chemicals and equipment.
Leigh, Darren and Graham travelled to Bendigo on Monday and collected a huge load of chemicals to service our greens. We also brought home a whipper snipper, Stihl blower and a huge wheelbarrow.
The load probably amounted to quite a considerable amount. The club has also offered us a grooming machine in great order and a long ramp pending discussions with the VRI board.
This generosity was greatly appreciated and once again shows that other clubs are keen to support us after the floods. Many thanks to VRI past president John Dullard and his committee.
All members of the Rochester Bowls Club are urged to attend a vital meeting to be held on Wednesday, June 14 at 7pm to discuss a future model for governance of the club.
Membership renewal can be paid now.
Full member is $180, but $10 less if paid before July 31. Playing social is $70; new player membership is $100; indoor bowls is $50; junior membership is $60; social membership is $30. Forms are in the foyer.
Bowls club bookings: Events, birthdays, funerals and so on. These need to go to Graham Willis for approval, please phone 0420 827 304.
All members and community need to note that it’s no good phoning the club as there is seldom any office bearers around to take a message.
Tuesday social bowls: Tuesday, June 6 social bowls begins at 1pm for anyone. All bowlers are welcome — there’s no need to call the office, just turn up.
