On Friday, April 21, 12 of our members travelled to Deniliquin for the Deni Social Day, and a great day was enjoyed by all.
Seventeen members all played three games in sunny conditions on Monday, and the winner for the day was John Alstin, winning three games with a plus 6.
Hoops-in-one went to Greg Breezley and Jack Clee; Jump shots, two for Peter van der Zande.
We all stayed back for a barbecue lunch; thanks to John Alstin for playing chef.
Rich River Croquet Club
Thursday, April 20:
Kingball was played by 13 members last Thursday.
Sandra Retallick was the only player to win three games and finished the day with 19 hoops. Ian Grant won two games and also finished with 19 hoops to be the runner-up.
April 22-23:
Rich River certainly turned on the weather for the 16 players competing in division one of the Annual Anzac Classic.
An impressive field including the world number one Robert Fletcher and top players from SA, Dwayne McCormick, NSW, Trevor Bassett, Tasmania, Callum Hyland and Victoria, Malcolm Fletcher and Greg Hill playing in two blocks.
After the round robin games were completed, winners of each block played off for first and second.
In both finals, spectators were treated to an amazing display of skills and strategy, especially the precision ball placement.
Final one: 1st, Robert Fletcher, 26; 2nd, Lachlan Berryman 1.
Final two: 3rd, Greg Hill 26, 4th, Dwayne McCormick 0.
