Jade Bennett is the hottest golfer going around at Rich River after his third win in a week.
Alan Docking pipped Bob Scott for the B-grade major prize and Clarke Taylor rolled back the clock to destroy the C-grade field with a fine 42 points. It was smiles all-round for Jade Bennett, Ron Branch and Lew Whitehead who shared the super-pin jackpot on 4 West.

Nine-hole medley stableford: The recently introduced Friday competitions are proving popular, with good scores coming in.

18-hole medley: Dion Phillips, visiting from Howlong, took the first prize with 38 points, from local Peter Sargentson on 34 and Dianne Byrne came third with 33.
Saturday, May 13
Travis Lewis won B-grade and easily took the May monthly medal with a fine nett 64. Travis topped it off with the super-pin win.
Kim Richardson won the A-grade nett and Ashley Collins came out on top in C-grade. Paddy Hannon won the A-grade scratch with Daniel Larkin on top in B-grade and Daryl Brown survived a three-way countback for the C-grade scratch.

Bernie Smith won the Star Award by a big margin after carding an excellent nett 69 on the West course.
Karen Slater also had a good day with Liz McKinlay finishing in third place.
Karen Mose won the nearest-the-pin with Cheryl Ashworth, not to be outdone by husband Ken who won a super-pin a couple of weeks ago, claiming the super-pin on Saturday.

The medley par round was well supported and two grades saw Adrian Sanderson win A-grade with plus four and Brian Holmes take the B-grade win with plus 2.

Danny Powell’s Monday night practice paid off big time with a great score of 42 points.
Jim Wagstaff is due for a hole-in-one but had to settle for a win in A-grade. Warwick Stiles won a countback in C-grade over John Smith. Big-hitting Dean Bruns eagled 11 East.

Wednesday, May 17
The par round, overall scores were well spread out and Trish Williams’ plus four was the top score for the day. Veterans Gloria Bennett and Doss Dinsdale were winners in their grades with +2 and +1 respectively. Chris Fleming scored another super-pin to add to her tally so far and Colleen Lynch scored two nearest-the-pins.

Lockington Golf Club
The women played a stableford round on Friday and it was terrific to see Sherryl Jones in the winner’s circle with her excellent score of 36 points. Good scores were also returned by Jenny Holt (35) and Pauline Humbert (34). Nearest-the-pin: Jenny Holt.
Saturday’s stableford round was played in glorious autumn weather, and it was Tom Scurrah back in form with a great score of 41 points to win the Giddings Co Player of the Day voucher, as well as C-grade honours ahead of Mark Lyons who returned the fine score of 38.
Ash Portwine was the clear-cut winner of A-grade with 37, while Jeff Carnie (36) won B-grade on a countback from Trav Mancer. Yardstick balls (next best scores, all grades): Ron Dixon 37, Ian Maddison 35, Don Muhleisen 34.
Nearest-the-pins: 7th – Andrew Glatte; 2nd shot 12th – Ash Portwine (A), Jeff Carnie (B), Ron Dixon (C); 2nd shot 18th for the 6-pack smack – Ron Dixon.
Spike’s Longest Drive on the 15th, sponsored by Hot and Cold Plumbing – Grant Humbert (A), Trav Mancer (B), JD Wright (C). Neither the Echuca CIH eagles nest on the 3rd, nor Captain Bricka’s yardstick on the 7th was won. Handicap Matchplay first round: Ash Portwine defeated Kevin Humbert 6 and 4.
Golfers are warmly invited to the club’s Annual Tournament, which commenced Thursday, May 18 with the Ladies’ 4BBB, followed by the Men’s 4BBB on Friday, May 19, the Mixed American on Saturday, May 20 and will conclude on Sunday, May 21 with the men’s 36-hole Stroke Open Championship.

Bamawm Golf Club
Happy Mothers’ Day to all, we celebrated with a two-person Ambrose on Sunday.
Winners of the day were Sam Frawley and Darcy Taylor with 70- 8.75-61.25 from runners-up Frank Coonerty and Lee Hicks 70-6.25-63.75.

Next week is a stableford round for the men, hit-off from 11am.
We have a ladies day for the women, 12pm hit-off for a nine-hole competition (no handicap needed, just come along and give it a try), with drinks and nibbles to follow, all welcome.
Rochester Golf Club
Wednesday nine-hole social golf saw a good field of 21 play a Stableford round over the back nine. The winner, once again on a three-way countback was Alex McQuibban from Mike Austin and the unlucky Spencer Broom, all on 20 points; other good scores were recorded by the following players in Robert Vise and Shane Wolfe (19) and Bruce Bryant, Laurie Jackel and Peter Anderson, all on 18 points, while Anderson was nearest on the 12th.
Friday, the ladies played a par event, and Barb McCarty was the winner with a great score of +6 from Julie Leahy (+2) while Jenny Major finished square. Nearest-the-pin winners were Louise Williams (3), Karen Taylor (5), Leahy on 8 for her second shot, McCarty was straightest on 10 and on 16 and Marg Knight on 12.
Saturday's event was a four-ball par round to qualifying for the club's four-ball matchplay championship.
Steve Bubb and Peter Anderson combined well to finish with a great score of +10, runners and qualifying were the following teams of Neil Coghill and Brett Young (+7), David Gebbie and Ian Pollard (+6), and on a countback were Darren White and Laurie Radley (+5) from the unlucky pairs of Laurie Jackel and Ap Kuiper alongside Leigh Hicks and Shane Connelly.
Anderson (5), Laurie Radley (8) and straightest on 10 was shared with Kuiper, while Bruce Bryant shot to 12 to win the Campaspe News Eagles Nest. Young was closest on 16, all won balls for nearest-the-pins.
