Rochester Golf Club

Wednesday nine-hole social golf was a stableford event played on the back nine. The winner was Laurie Radley with 23 points, from David Gebbie with 22 points. Kevin McCormack hit a nice shot to 12 to win nearest-the-pin.

The women played their last official Friday event for the season. Julie Leahy won with 18 stableford points over the back nine from Helen Ingram (16). Nearest-the-pin winners were Elaine Lees for her straight drive down the 10th fairway and Louise Williams was closest to the 16th flag.

The club will continue to run events on Saturdays due to the good conditions and while there is still interest. Last Saturday, president Lee Hicks continued his good form to win with 40 stableford points from Frank Severino on a countback from Steve Bubb, both on 36.

Visitor Trav Mancer was next best from Robert Vise and Troy McInnes, all on 35.

Men, women and visitors are most welcome on any Saturdays, with hit-off from 11.30am.

Don’t forget the Rochester Golf Club annual general meeting is on October 23.
