Round 12 match results
The outcomes in division one were fairly predictable with the unbeaten Misfits easily taking care of Double Trouble in a 10-1 drubbing.
P*ssheads accounted for struggling team The Shoeless, beating them 9-2, and in the final match Projectile Dysfunction had little trouble against the Falcon Hasbeens winning 8-3.
Division two results weren’t so cut and dried. Pastoral Warriors who remain undefeated continued on their merry way, coming home with a 7-4 win against Tonny Terrors.
And in the final match, Pastoral Pirates, with a nail-biting teams game decider, limped across the line to beat Ocheholics 6-5.
Individual highlights
The highest average this round with 23.30 per dart went to our top lady player, Joanne Hadley. Jo also shared the shortest game honours with Dylan Oaff with a 16-dart leg.
Dylan had the highest peg with 91 and he also threw 3 x 180s. Michael Bajowski threw the most tons with 12 which included his 2 x 180s.
Division two highlights weren’t as grand. Shane Valentine topped the ton list, sharing it with Neil Templar with four tons. He also had the shortest game of 22 darts and the best average of 17.03.
Teammates Val McKee and Alan Bryson shared the high peg of 64. Terry Heaney hit the only 180 in division two.
State team selection trials
Just a reminder, the final stage of the state selection trials are being held in Dandenong this weekend.
Local hopefuls Michael Bajowski, Dylan Oaff and Jodie Oakley, along with Janine Cassar who was state player last year, are endeavouring to join our other EMDA players Jo Hadley and Michael Cassar, who are automatic selections as they both represented Australia in Denmark last year. Good luck to you all.
EMDA open doubles
A stellar night of darts was held at the Pastoral Inn Hotel Motel on Wednesday night. Thirty-two players turned out to compete in the Association Open Doubles Championship.
The 16 pairs were put into groups of four, playing where they each played the other three pairs within their group. The top two pairs in each group then progressed into a final eight knockout stage.
There were some very high-standard games with many, many tons and 140s being thrown. Individual standouts were Michael Bajowski who hit 3 x 180s, while Dylan Oaff threw two 100+ pegs of 100 and 120. Dylan also threw a 180.
The final between Cal Burt and Michael Bajowski, against Dylan Oaff and Will Broucek was played best of seven and could have gone either way.
It came down to three legs each giving us a single leg shootout for a decider.
The nerves obviously set in though as all players had several shots at double before Michael eventually hit double one to win the game.
Best ladies pair on the night went to Janine Cassar and Jo Hadley. Ladies runners-up were Dolly Dunne and Jodie Crilly. Normal home-and-away matches will resume next Wednesday.
Anzac Day raffle
Due to other commitments I was unable to run the Thursday night meat raffle at the Pastoral. Much thanks to Zeb Boslam for stepping in and doing it for me.
