Young gun Angus Baldwin edged out Lindsay Mudge and pro Richard Caiolfa to take the major prize in A-grade.
Danny Powell had the score of the day to beat Geoff Stephenson in B-grade and the consistent Peter Moon won a countback over Phil Birrell in C-grade.

Saturday, November 6
The first round of the championships saw some good scores, with Steve Levy and Paddy Hannon both shooting under par to lead youngster Aaron Loader by two shots.
Mitch Pearson leads the Medal of Medallists’ Ben Knight in B-grade and committee-man Keith Jenkinson leads C-grade.
Fletcher Kelly won the monthly medal and the lead in D-grade with two rounds remaining.

Sunday, November 7
The ladies’ Saturday competition moved to Sunday to make room on the timesheet for the men's championship entries.
Debbie Morden hit top form with 40 Stableford points, just in time to move her up the list of entries for the women's championships starting on Wednesday.
A-grade: 1st Debbie Morden (40 points); 2nd Tracey Burton (40 points); 3rd Maree Ciavarella (35 points).
Sunday medley: Stewart Gough also had a good round on Sunday to take the win in B-grade with 40 points, three points clear of second-placed Jackson Gronow.
A-grade: 1st Warwick Newman (38 points); 2nd Troy Kenny (37 c/b); 3rd Ray Burgman (37).
B-grade: 1st Stewart Gough (40); 2nd Jackson Gronow (37); 3rd Susanne Riddington (36).
Monday, November 8
Monday's nine-hole field of 46 players in the stroke max score event included the eight finalists of the monthly stellar award.
The winner was Wendy Williams who also had the win in B-grade.
A-grade: 1st Glenda Phillips (33 net); 2nd Carmel Devlin (34); 3rd Carolyn Smith (36).
B-grade: 1st Wendy Williams (31); 2nd Noelene Charlton (34); 3rd Valma O'Neill (35).
Monday medley: It was good to see visitors from Traralgon, Pakenham, Shepparton and Neangar Park in the field for the stroke max score round. Dot Atkins from Traralgon took the win with 70 net.

Tuesday, November 9
Kenny Lambert enjoyed the return to the West course with a fine score to win A-grade, while John Moyle and Daniel Lavery had the scores of the day to win B-grade and C-grade respectively.

B-grade: 1st John Moyle (41 points); 2nd Michael Davidson (37); 3rd Bruce Major (37).

Wednesday, November 10
The first round of the women's championships was run on Wednesday and leading the open division with a gross score of 81 was Marcia Spiers, three shots clear of Carol Eddy on 84.
Nacole Horneman and Karen Fitzgerald both had 85.
The daily competition was won by Marcia Spiers in A-grade with 66 net from Carol Eddy on 68 and Liz Easther 69.

B-grade: 1st Sharna Chapman (69); 2nd Margaret Peat (71 c/b); 3rd Ellen Banko (71).

Rich River Veterans
On Friday, November 5, 83 golfers played a Stableford event on the West course, producing some excellent scores.
Recently-crowned ladies’ Stableford champion Jan McGuinness continued her good form to win the ladies’ A-grade event with 41 points.
Dianne Stewart took out second place with 37 points on a countback from Rosalie Drill.
Pat Sanders won B-grade with a sound 41 points from Susan Hutton with 36.
Graeme Stevens was the men’s A-grade winner with 39 points ahead of Colin Tucker with 37.
Bruce Fleming won B-grade with 40 points from Barry Gallagher with 38 points.
The next event will be Friday, November 19 with a group of Griffiths Veterans travelling to join Rich River’s shotgun event followed by lunch.
Please note the Christmas and presentations event has been moved to December 3.
