The A-graders hosted Shepparton Youth Club at Echuca College for round five of the Regional Hockey League, while the other three EMHC sides travelled to Shepparton Regional Hockey Complex for round 11 of the Goulburn Valley Hockey Association season.
The A-grade River Rats did well to avoid another loss, as they currently sit at the bottom of the GVHA ladder, with both sides grinding out a 1-1 draw by the full-time siren.
Troy Kenny found the host’s only goal of the match, with the draw bringing Echuca-Moama closer to passing SYC on the GVHA ladder, while they currently sit in fifth on the RHL ladder.
The B-grade River Rats had less success in their round 11 clash against SYC, going down in a tight 1-0 defeat.
The sole goal of the match was produced by Iain Greig, keeping his side’s unbeaten streak alive at the top of the table.
The low score was reflective of both sides’ ladder positions, with the River Rats currently sitting in second with a record of 4-2-4.
The lower-ranked Strikers took it to the league-leading Echuca-Moama women’s Green side in round 11 with the teams unable to be separated.
Meaghan Whan was the lone goalscorer for the River Rats while the Strikers’ Renee Whatman found the breakthrough for her side with the game ending in a 1-1 stalemate.
Heading into round 12, Echuca-Moama Green retains its top ranking in the women’s competition with a record of 7-1-1.
Meanwhile, the third-placed Echuca-Moama White side took care of business against Euroa.
In a one-sided affair, Tina Dennett led the way in front of goal with three to her name, while Chloe Kell, Jessica Draper and Rebecca Webb all contributed with a goal apiece in the 6-0 romping.
