Pirates duo Elise Napier and Mekenzie Wood enjoyed successful trails for the Country State Development Program and were promptly selected to participate.
The duo will undertake high-performance training throughout the summer under the guidance of BV coaches but will also take part in the upcoming Australian Country Junior Basketball Cup.
The tournament provides an insight into elite development and high-level gameplay, with 60 teams and 700 players from around Australia taking part at the Lauren Jackson Sports Centre in January.
Napier and Wood have been selected for the under-14 girls team bound for Albury. At the same time, Arli Walker has also been named, picked as an emergency in the under-14 boys team.
Napier and Walker have also found themselves in the thick of the action at representative football level, with Napier competing in the recent V/Line Cup and for Victoria at the School Sports Australia representative tournament.
Walker also played for Victoria in the under-12 tournament.
