The Eagles hosted Cobram, and with Zara Retallick bringing up a club record 300 games in front of past players, there was no option other than the win.
It was celebrations for the home side when the final whistle went, claiming the 42-31 win over the Tigers, and also ensuring it will play its elimination final at home.
“It was a strong win considering we were a little depleted yesterday with players,” Eagles co-coach Kate Donehue said after the game.
“Cobram are a young side who gave it to us. We changed a few positions in our game and had a great second quarter.”

Tessa Bruni shone in attack for the Eagles, while Amy Sherlock gave another fantastic effort at the defensive end.
The result also pushes United ahead of Moama on the ladder, with the Magpies falling to sixth after a loss to Mulwala, changing the make-up of the first week of finals.
“It was a perfect way to end the season and means that our A-grade girls get a home final,” Donehue said.
“We are super proud of our girls, and we feel that they are ready for finals.”
Echuca United will host Mulwala at Echuca South next Sunday, while Moama and Rumbalara will face off at Numurkah on Saturday.
Having beaten Tongala throughout the season and pushed Deniliquin in their meetings, the Eagles will fancy themselves as a dark horse, and will certainly be a tough prospect with a home-court advantage next week.
