Echuca has maintained its place in the top four of the Goulburn Valley League’s netball competition after an emphatic win over Kyabram in round 11.

While Kyabram struck first, Echuca went on to score five unanswered goals in two minutes to assert its dominance.
The Bombers scored sporadically in the first term but couldn’t stop Echuca’s goal runs, with the Murray Bombers leading by six goals at quarter-time.
In the second period, Echuca went on two massive runs. The first was a 10-goal onslaught before Kyabram stemmed the flow with a pair of its own.
The Murray Bombers added another eight unanswered goals to end the half, extending their lead to 23.
Kyabram could only manage three goals in the opening 10 minutes of the second half, with Echuca continuing its dominant run, adding eight in that time.
Holly Chadwick continues to impress for the Murray Bombers, scoring 29 goals in their win over Kyabram.

The Murray Bombers led by 30 heading into the final period, but Kyabram only managed to find the net 16 times through three quarters.
Yet the Bombers came out fighting in the fourth term, going back and forth with Echuca, before the Murray Bombers scored three goals in a row to ice the game.
Echuca walked away with the win, 59-25.
The Murray Bombers’ attacking duo of playing coach Belinda Lees and young gun Holly Chadwick was unstoppable. Lees ended the game with 30 and Chadwick had 29.
Kyabram has only claimed one win in 2024, with its finals hopes slim.
Echuca will look to break free from the middle of the table when it travels to Deakin Reserve to face eighth-placed Shepparton United in round 12.
