EDNA boys make debut at Champs

Echuca District Netball Association entered a boys 17 and under team to play at the Netball Victoria Association Male Championships in Knox last Sunday.

The team had a mixed success, playing tough games against some big name opponents Waverley, Darebin, Whitehorse, Hopper Crossing , Traralgon and Casey.

The EDNA team’s best result was the game against Castlemaine, the team veterans of these championships.

The result was a 7-3 defeat, but a big improvement for the EDNA team against one of the state’s best.

The EDNA side scored a win against Whitehorse 9-7.

Overall the team consisting of Wayne Phyland (Coach), Sam Motton (Team Manager), Jude Phyland, Luke Motton, Toby Phyland, Caiden Kerber, Harry Bryan, Jett Milligan, Oscar Palmer, Tanner Kerber and Zac Somerville enjoyed their first tournament representing EDNA.

EDNA will be looking at registering a team to compete at the 2026 Champs.
