Valued bowls contributors from Elmore and Kyabram have been recognised as monthly winners in the Warramunda Community Care Bowler of the Year Award.

The award recognises one bowler from each of five playing areas (Campaspe, Bendigo, Goldfields, Goulburn and Murray) each month, with an overall winner to be selected from the nominees at season’s end.
Elmore’s Lorna Watson won the Campaspe region award for November, after more than three decades of service to the club in various roles.
Stanhope tournament organiser and volunteer Greg Fitzpatrick claimed runner-up honours for the month in the region.
In December, Kyabram’s Helen Chapman earned the monthly nomination for the Campaspe region, ahead of runner-up Lockington’s Cindy Felmingham.
Each monthly winner for each of the five regions receives $200 and runners-up earn a $100 Moama Bowling Club voucher.

Winners and runners-up go into the running to claim the overall bowler of the year award, worth $500, with a winner to be declared for the Bendigo Campaspe Goldfields region and another for the Goulburn Murray region, making the award a total of $10,000 over the six-month season.
Eighty-two bowlers have been nominated over the first three months of the award.
