Co-coach Paige Pinson had plenty of praise for her troops as they improved to fifth on the ladder.
“The girls played absolutely fantastically,” she said.
“There were probably only seven minutes there in the second half where we lost the plot a little bit, but then the girls were very resilient, they came back, and we won 5-4.
“They did everything that I asked of them.
“They were working on their one-twos, they were communicating, they were positive.
“It was all I really wanted, and it was absolutely fantastic to watch them string it all together.”

It has been a challenging task for the side, not only dealing with the step up into League 1 but also looking to integrate new faces into the squad.
“I think it’s the first time since we’ve moved up a division where it feels like we are actually on top of it and knew what we were doing,” Pinson said.
“We’ve had such a big turnover of the team, and we’ve had a lot of injuries already this season.
“It was nice to get such a strong side on the field and communicating and work so well as a unit.”

The Border Raiders will once again stride out on to Jack Eddy Oval on Sunday as the side hosts Strathfieldsaye Colts at noon.
The Colts (2-0-2) have six points, and a win for the Border Raiders would see the locals go above their opposition and into fourth.
The two teams matched up in the league cup on April 13, the Border Raiders’ first match since promotion, in a game that saw the Colts progress in dominant fashion.
Asha Davies and Poppie Carboon suffered a minor collison.

Men’s
The Border Raiders men find themselves in an early season slump, having tasted defeat in their past three fixtures.
The side held firm in the first half away to top-of-the-table Strathfieldsaye, but the Colts ran away with the second half in a 6-2 win.

The sides went in level 1-1 at the break, the Border Raiders’ Eoin Kelly cancelling out Tyler Parkhill’s opener.
By the time Kelly stuck again in the second half, the game had already slipped beyond his side’s reach.
In a young season, the Border Raiders aren’t too far off the pace, but currently sit fifth in the six-team competition with a single win.
The side hosts third-placed Spring Gully at Jack Eddy Oval from 2pm on Sunday.
