Echuca v Mansfield
It was a mixed bag in the football for Echuca as the club travelled to Mansfield for round seven.

Both the seniors and under-18s got wins in their respective matches but the reserves were beaten convincingly.
It was all level after the first quarter of the reserves match with both sides at 1.2 apiece, but the Eagles took flight in the second period, kicking four goals to get over the top at half time.
Both sides were even in terms of output in the third term but Echuca failed to shave off any of the 17-point the Eagles held heading into the fourth quarter.
A goaless fourth quarter was the nail in the coffin for the reserves as Mansfield ran away with it with three more goals down the stretch.
The final score was Echuca 4.5 (29) to Mansfield 10.3 (63).
Conversley, the Murray Bombers’ under-18 unit notched an impressive 30-point victory over the Eagles in their bout.
Dominant bookend quarters for Echuca was enough to grant the side victory as Mansfield struggled to get anything going on the attack, with its two goals in the second quarter the only multi-goal effort in the match.
Meanwhile Luke Oellermann’s three goals went a long way in securing victory for the Echuca thirds.
The final score was Echuca 6.14 (50) to Mansfield 3.2 (20).
It was a busy but successful Saturday for Echuca’s netballers, with all five netball teams claiming victory at Mansfield Recreation Reserve.
The B-graders laid waste in their match, with the Eagles not even looking like a chance in the 70-22 victory.
The Murray Bombers piled on 45 goals in the first half to Mansfield’s nine to ice the game at the midway point before going on to add another 25 in the second half, beating out the Eagles’ full-time score.
It was a much closer affair for Echuca’s B-reserve as both sides had their horns locked at quarter time at nine goals apiece.
Echuca slowly managed to build a small lead through the next two quarters before holding on down the stretch to emerge victorious, 43-37.
The under-17’s got away with an eight-point victory against Mansfield in their match where they led all the way.
Despite doubling their opponents score at quarter time, the under-17s let Mansfield back into the contest before half time, but they ultimately cruised in the second half to a 50-42 win.
The under-15s strutted their stuff against the Eagles after a close first quarter threatened tight contest.
Echuca expanded through the middle quarters to end it’s day with a 19-goal victory.
The final score was Echuca 51 to Mansfield 32.
Echuca United v Deniliquin
It was a tale of two disciplines for Echuca United when the club travelled to Deniliquin to face the Rams in round six with all of the football side suffering defeats and all the netball sides claiming victory.
The reserves kept their counterparts to no score in the first quarter but faltered only kicked one goal in each of the remaining periods which allowed Deni to leapfrog them an claim a 17-point victory.
The final score was Echuca United 6.5 (41) to Deniliquin Rams 9.4 (58).
The under-17s found it hard to get the ball rolling in their contest, having kicked just four behinds by half time but rallied throughout the rest of the game to almost pip Deniliquin at the buzzer.
The final score was Echuca United 4.7 (31) to Deniliquin Rams 7.3 (45).
The under-14s had the toughest outing of them all, being put to the sword 1.0 (6) to 22.15 (147) by the Rams.
It took three quarters for the Eagles to get on the board thanks to Cruz Formosa but it didn’t do much to overcome the 141-point deficit.
The netballers had a much more joyous road trip to Mansfield, with all teams barring A-grade returning home with a victory.
The B-graders walked away with a 22-goal win after holding the lead for the entirety of the game, finshing 54-32 and adding another victory to their already successful season.
In a similar scoreline, the C-grade unit notched an even more impressive 25-goal victory over Deniliquin to continue in its march back to finals.
The final score was 51 to 26.
The C-reserve unit continued the club’s domination on the day with the Eagles flying away with a strong 24-point victory against the Rams.
The final score was 41 to 17.
The juniors had just a good of a time as their senior counter parts with the under-17s romping Deni 57- 26, the under-15s getting it done in a tight tussle 35-22 and the under-13’s dominating 34-4.
Tongala v Cobram
In contrast to the seniors triumph, it was a tough outing for Tongala’s reserves, Cobram all over the Blues in a 19.13 (127) to 1.0 (6) win.
It took until the final period for Sam Tyler to get Tonny on the board, kicking its only score of the match.
Cobram’s Matthew DeMaio was his side’s leader with five majors.
It was also a hard contest in the junior grades, Cobram dominating the under-17s fixture 14.13 (97) to 2.2 (14).
The Blues were in reach after the first period, as Cobram logged an inaccurate 1.5, but the Tigers burst away over the remaining periods for a big win.

Tonny’s woes were also present in the day’s opening contest, the Blues wiped away 26.18 (174) to 0 in the under-14s.
It was an all-round strong day for the Blues across the netball courts, with five of seven sides coming away with wins in Cobram.
The B-grade side set the tone from the opening quarter, holding Cobram to just two goals in the term to establish an early lead, before running away with the game 40-20 overall.
In C-grade, the scoreline was even more dominant, the Blues coming away 65-38 winners, while in C-Reserve, Tongala won by 30 goals, 56-26.
The day wasn’t as strong in the junior grades as the Blues under-17s were went down in a tight contest, 39-30, while the under-15s struggled to get going, beaten 34-14.
Tongala’s under-13 side bucked the trend for the juniors, battling to a 32-22 victory.
