Goulburn Murray’s 12-player squads are bound for Ballarat from January 9-11, looking to come out on top as the best of Victoria’s 16 bowls regions.
Some of the best players from the Goulburn Valley and Murray Playing Areas have been named, with a Tallygaroopna trio tapped to skip all three men’s rinks.
Mark Ryan, David Daws, and Mitch Sidebottom will lead a formidable men's squad featuring teammate Guy Madigan, Shepparton Golf trio Charlie and Henry Boswood plus Brent Reiner, and Tatura Hill Top's dynamic duo Josh Warren and Scott Adams.
Wunghnu’s Cartwright connection will make a stop at the representative level, with Jacob and Josh Cartwright set to compete, while Numurkah Golf’s Daniel Nichols and Geoff Sutcliffe round out the MPA representation.
The women’s rinks will be skipped by Lidija Patching (Numurkah Golf), Carla Miles (Tallygaroopna), and Kris Wright (Shepparton Golf), with a strong Numurkah flavour among the ranks, including Ann Milkins and Marianne Kirk, along with Numurkah Golf’s Robyn Hodgkin and Loris Houlihan.
Shepparton Park’s Kate Bush and Bree Warren are also in the side, along with Rushworth’s Lyn Nicholson, Cobram’s Kerry Baldacchino, and Shepparton Golf’s Joanne Crowe.
They are two squads that will demand respect when competition gets under way on January 9, with the Goulburn Murray drawn in Gold Section 2.
