On Good Friday, trainer Naomi Bourke put Hammond in the saddle for race seven at Cranbourne over 2580m, where she guided The Yachtsman from the inside barrier to win by two and a half lengths.
The win was Hammond’s only ride for the meet, but she would follow up with several impressive results at Kerang the next day, scoring another winner and two seconds.
In race two over 1100m, Hammond rode Alesha Lily into second place, before getting aboard Lika Swift for race five.
On this occasion Hammond was riding for Gwenda Johnstone, who has given her the most rides in her career, and she didn’t disappoint, piloting Lika Swift to victory by half a length.
The Kerang Cup, race seven, saw Hammond again find her way into the placings, finishing second aboard Equine Philosopher.
The weekend’s results took the 21-year-old to 36 winners and 33 seconds from 432 rides in her career.
