Now, Morris is gunning for the highest of highs as he and his teammates prepare to bring the premiership cup back to Victoria Park for the first time in 20 years.
“I’m excited to be honest, this is the opportunity we’ve been waiting for since 2019 when we went down,” Morris said.
“From starting from 10th or 11th when I first moved here to near the top now is something I’m pretty proud of.
“It would mean everything (to win), I couldn’t describe it in words, to be honest, what it would mean to my family and the club and obviously the wider community.”
Morris has played 124 games for the Murray Bombers, and now into his second grand final for the club, he’ll be calling on all his experience when he battles Euroa ruck Andrew Smith once again.
“It’s a big battle, obviously Andrew is a great player, we have some good contests, especially through this year,” Morris said.
“It’s 50/50 so you take those chances when you get them. To be the best you have to beat the best.
“The challenge ahead of me gets me up and about more than anything. We’ll take the opportunity while we can and hopefully come out on top on Sunday afternoon.”
