Round 4 of the AWJFL saw the Yarrawonga Under 14 boys have their first win for the season over the boys from St Patricks.
In a very close first quarter the Yarra boys managed to hold a slender lead of 5 points. Pacey Haebich was working hard in the ruck against some taller opposition and Ryder Stevens was proving a headache for St Pats with some strong run from the half back line.
In the second quarter Yarra really turned it on with 3 great team goals whilst holding the opposition goalless.
Zac Forge was instrumental in this as he collected numerous possessions throughout the midfield, sending the ball deep into the forward line.
St Pats hadn’t given up though as they fought back in the third quarter, outscoring Yarra by 7 points.
Sam Williams stepped up when the pressure was on, attacking the footy hard and a picking up a few important possessions in an effort to hold off St Pats attacks on goal.
A great last quarter by the Yarra boys sealed the game, kicking 4 goals whilst holding St Pats to 3 points.
Gus Saunders and Sam Trembath were both on fire, presenting hard as key forwards and bagging 2 goals each.

Ryan was well backed up by Jai Sneddon who seemed to have the ball in his hands every time he went near it.
