An expected down season in the senior football has yielded a fourth consecutive 200-plus scoring performance by the Timbercutters’ opposition, Katandra the latest side to fill its scorecard at Mathoura’s expense.

Club president Blake Keech slotted the visitor’s only goal at Katandra Recreation Reserve, while at the other end, the Kats piled on 32 majors.

The final score was Katandra a dominant 32.13 (205) winner over Mathoura 1.1. (7).

Mitchell Black (6) and Thomas Jeffrey (5) were the goal-scoring leaders for the host.

After a series of games against the league’s better sides, the Cutters have an opportunity to showcase the steps they’ve made on the training park with a much kinder month of fixtures on the way.

Mathoura plays each of the four sides who currently accompany them in the bottom five in consecutive matches with Strathmerton (3-5) the opponent this week.

That match will be followed by games against Katunga (3-5), Rennie (0-9), a bye and Blighty (0-9).
