At just 12 years of age, Echuca Pirates star Keoni Anderson is already making a name for himself on the basketball court.
Keoni was named to play for Victoria Country’s under-14 side at the Country-Metro Challenge (CMC), taking another step in Basketball Victoria’s development program.
One of Echuca’s brightest up-and-coming basketball talents, Keoni competed in Bendigo on Sunday and Monday against the Victorian Metropolitan side, taking part in games and skill development.
The CMC is the latest in a string of representative honours for Keoni in 2023, also competing in the Southern Cross Challenge for Victoria Country Bushrangers.
During winter, the point guard has been plying his trade for the North-East Bushrangers’ under-14 side in the Victorian Junior Basketball Association, posting 248 points from his 19 games.
Keoni was also one of the key members of Echuca Pirates’ under-14 division two premiership side at the Junior Country Championships, posting 20 or more points in three games, including in the 47-36 grand final win over Wonthaggi.
