It’s one that got away from Kyabram’s star cricketer Kyle Mueller, but overall Cricket Shepparton’s awards night last week produced its share of Kyabram Cricket Club winners.
The reigning Bert Lightfoot Medallist, Mueller with 13 votes had to be content with being runner-up this time to Numurkah all-rounder Raguvaran Aravinthan who claimed the medal with 15 votes.
Mueller was runner-up with 13 followed by Katandra’s Corey Hickford and Lachy Keady (Karramomus) who were equal third with 12 votes.
Kyabram pace bowler Sam Langley, Waaia’s Brandon Diplock and Jordan Cleeland, and Central Park St Brendan’s duo Jack McCarten and Tyler Larkin were next best, all with 10 votes
Langley also won the bowling average award in the Haisman Shield competition.
Mueller, Langley and veteran batsman Paul Parsons were named in the Team Of Year award.
Kyabram also had the winner of the E-grade bowling average award in Riley Nicholson who along with teammate Flynn Burrows were also selected in the Team Of Year award.
Another Kyabram player, Jason Parsons was also selected in the B-grade Team Of Year.
