Years 7 and 8 began the cross country at Kyabram P-12 last Thursday morning.
The annual event that has been interrupted the past couple years because of COVID has been running for the past four years and usually runs for years prep to 6.
This is the first year that years 7 and 8 have run in the event.
The first three competitors that pass the finish line win the chance to go represent the school at Districts.
Teacher Sarah Mangan said the students loved the event as it was a chance for them to chase their personal best run times.
“The primary kids love it because we time them in PE, and they try and beat their time every week,” Ms Mangan said.
“So it’s more about them beating their time than actually winning and improving on that. We talk about how that helps with their fitness and why it is so important.”
