Laffy was named in the initial 19-player squad in April this year, with her strong performances for Riverina representative sides earning her a ticket to Brisbane as part of the final team.
Playing for the Riverina side at the under-19 female country championships, the all-rounder contributed 80 runs at an average of 20 for the tournament with a top score of 22 not out, while also finishing with three wickets.
The young star also earned selection for NSW at the All Schools NSW Cricket Exchange vs Queensland tournament in September, having been named player of the tournament at the NSW All Schools carnival in March.
Laffy took six wickets across three days of competition against Queensland, with NSW wrapping up the T20 and one day trophies.
The Echuca talent was also in action for the Riverina Bullets in the Women’s Plan B Country Bash T20 grand final, and although her side was unable to claim the win, Laffy finished with the most economical bowling figures for the Bullets.
Laffy is the only player picked for the NSW Country squad from the Riverina region. However, she will join Echuca teammate Grace Moyle at the national championships, with Moyle already announced as a member of the Victoria Country side.
The championships will run from December 14 to 21 in Brisbane, with Laffy and Moyle set to come face-to-face on Friday, December 15, when NSW Country and Vic Country meet at Ian Healy Oval.
