Little athletes off to Vic champs

Fourteen Echuca-Moama Little Athletics Centre (EMLAC) athletes are off to the Victoria State Championship track and field following a strong regional showing in Albury.

Progressions for the 2022 Commonwealth Bank State Track and Field Championships were announced on Friday, and a contingent of athletes from EMLAC will be raring to go in anticipation of another large-scale event.

They will compete alongside hundreds of little athletes from across Victoria at Albert Parks Lakeside Stadium on Saturday, March 12, and Sunday, March 13.

Athletes earned progression to the State Championships via regional track and field carnivals, and Echuca-Moama had a particularly strong showing at Albury last week for the Northern Country Regional athletics carnival.

EMLAC’s 22 representatives were red-hot in a range of events, finishing the carnival with 12 gold medals and 40 podium finishes.
