Market Day a success at Echuca Twin Rivers

On Thursday, September 18, the Grade 5/6 students of Echuca Twin Rivers held their long-awaited Market Day, bringing their creative ideas to life by running their very own stalls.

With a fantastic range of activities — including Nerf Wars, a footy challenge, lolly toss, Mario Kart, and various indoor games — plus products such as slime, bracelets, face painting, and temporary tattoos, as well as delicious food and drinks, there was truly something for everyone to enjoy.

Market Day was a wonderful opportunity for students to build teamwork skills, develop financial literacy, and experience the challenges and rewards of running a small business.

Throughout Term 3, students worked in teams to develop a product or service idea that would appeal to their school community.

They created detailed business plans outlining their concept, target audience, pricing, and promotional strategies.

The ‘Think It, Make It, Market It’ unit was integrated across Literacy and Numeracy, giving students the chance to apply real-world skills in meaningful ways.
