McGregor snared the wickets of Will Wade for 34 and Nondies’ skipper Peter Moore in quick succession before trapping Sam O’Shea LBW to round out the hat-trick, sparking wild celebrations at Moama Recreation Reserve on Saturday afternoon.
McGregor’s exploits with the ball were key in bundling Nondies-Cohuna out for 108 after 42 overs despite a steady start to the innings for the visitors.
Wade and Mitch Treacy steadied the ship early after the departure of Alex Thornhill to the bowling of Matt Saunders in the fifth over, navigating to 1-52 before McGregor began to ask questions with the ball.

McGregor finished with 3-5 off seven overs, including four maidens, with Wade, Treacy (22) and Patrick Doyle (22) the top scorers for Nondies.
But it wasn’t just McGregor who put his name up in lights.
Leg-spinner Russell Stockdale claimed 3-33 before blasting 120 off 83 deliveries, including 10 fours and seven maximums in an absolute masterclass.
Treacy eventually broke through for the prized scalp, but by that point the damage was done with Stockdale and Kirk Teasdale (50 not out) putting on 156 for the first wicket and claiming valuable first-innings points.
Moama quickly moved to 2-229 after 37 overs on the back of Stockdale’s innings, with Fraser Buchanan (34) and McGregor (4) to resume the batting next week.
