Echuca United will be forced to wait for its second win of the season after falling to Barooga in a heartbreaking three-goal defeat on Saturday.

The Eagles were pipped 33-36 in a low-scoring Murray Netball League thriller at Barooga, a result which now has United holding a 1-5 record a third of the way through the A-grade season.

Since a thrilling two-goal win over Cobram in round four, the young Eagles have now experienced back-to-back losses following defeat to Mulwala last week.

Now tenth, the Eagles will look to rebound against eight-placed Congupna in round seven at home on refurbished netball courts.

In B-grade, the Eagles fell 25-46, while C-grade retained second spot on the ladder with a thrilling 48-45 win.

C-Reserve emulated that result with a three goal win of their own over Barooga, 42-39.

Elsewhere in A-grade, Moama’s winning streak extended to four with a 52-45 win against Tongala, but the Blues managed to hold fourth spot despite the result.

Top-three sides Deniliquin, Rumbalara, and Nathalia all picked up big wins, with the Rams and Purple the last remaining undefeated sides in Murray Netball League A-grade.

Mulwala rounded out the A-grade results with a narrow win over Finley.

Round seven marks a split round for the competition, with games spread across May 14 and 21.
