The Blues and Magpies meet at Congupna this Sunday, August 28, to determine if either progresses to a semi-final shootout against Nathalia or Mulwala next week.
Tongala get its chance at coming good on its promising trajectory after catapulting itself into finals calculations in the cancelled 2021 season, an opportunity Blues’ coach Paige Wade told Shepparton News her squad is relishing.
“The girls are super pumped, obviously every season this is what you play for, but especially this year given we haven’t had finals for the last couple of years,” Wade said.
“We are quietly confident if we bring our best we can push Moama, but at the same time also understand it is going to be a very tough task.
“It’ll come down to who settles into the game best, so for us it will just be about getting our game going from the start.”
Moama has the wood over Tongala in season 2022, with the Magpies victorious in both encounters.
They were fine margins, however, with a seven-goal difference in round six narrowing dramatically to a one-goal thriller in round 15.
On both occasions, the duel between goal shooter Milly Brock and Moama defender Jodie Lake has been prime netball viewing.
Wade is backing in her star attacker on the big stage.
“Milly has had some really good battles against Jodie Lake this year and she will obviously play a pivotal part in our game,” she said.
“Hopefully she’ll be firing and ready to go and I cannot wait to see what she brings to the finals stage.”
In the other elimination final, Murray Netball League heavyweight Nathalia will face Mulwala at Tongala Reserve this Saturday, August 27.
Deniliquin and Rumbalara play off in the A-grade Qualifying Final next weekend.
