The Steamers started strongly to win the first rink, skipped by Geoffrey Beattie, 25-18, and widened the margin even further as Paul Newcombe outdid his Rochester counterpart Brian Trengove, skipping Moama to a 25-15 shot win in the second rink.
But it was in rink three that the final nail was hammered into the coffin, as the Moama quartet of Michael Linehan (skip), Brian Davie (lead), Stuart Whyte (second) and Ben Franklin (third) recorded a resounding 27-16 victory to cap off an emphatic win.
The Steamers sit 3-0 for the year and hold a 13-point advantage over Mathoura at the top of the table, and will look to continue the streak when they face reigning premier Tongala on Saturday.
Rochester sits 1-2 for the season following the loss, and will hope to bounce back against last-placed Rich River in round four.
Tongala put its first win on the board for the new season when it defeated Echuca, claiming a 14-55 to 2-44 win at Tongala Bowls Club.
Echuca skip James Ferrier got his side off to a bright start in rink one, accounting for the Jarryd Tinning-led Tongala 19-15 to head into the second rink ahead.
But Bradley Tinning and his Tonny team hit back, claiming an 18-14 win in the second rink to have things all squared up with one rink to play.
Matthew Liverton (skip), Geoffrey Tinning (lead), Peter Tinning (second) and Wayne Cowley (third) ensured that it would be Tongala that emerged victorious, with a determined showing leading to a comfortable 22-11 win, and with it the overall victory.
Tongala will look to make it consecutive wins next week when it faces the undefeated Moama, while Echuca will take on Stanhope in search of its first win since round one.
Mathoura swept Stanhope to win all rinks en route to a big 16-73 to 0-41 victory, vaulting up to second on the ladder in the process.
The first rink put the visitors in prime position for the clash, taking it out 32-6 under the direction of skip Peter Holzer.
They would go on to win the following two rinks 18-16 and 23-19 to cement the win by 32 shots overall.
Mathoura will face Deniliquin on Saturday in a second vs third match-up, while Stanhope and Echuca will face off as they both look for win number two this season.
Deniliquin secured its second victory this season with a clinical 14-65 to 2-42 win over Rich River.
The hosts set up the win with a 10-shot triumph in rink one, taking the contest 20-10, before Mark Quor (skip), Graham Nisbet (lead), Christine Taylor (second) and Peter Chadderton (third) delivered Deniliquin a match-defining 27-10 win in the second rink.
Rich River would salvage some points with a 22-18 win in the third rink, led by skip Keith Hewitt, however the margin proved too big to claw back.
Deniliquin will travel to Mathoura on Saturday in an intriguing clash between the second- and third-placed sides, while Rich River will be hoping to escape the bottom spot on the ladder when it faces Rochester.
