Top bowlers from around Victoria flocked to Moama for the fourth Victorian Bowls League finals.

Held across Friday and Saturday, August 29 and 30, the finals weekend saw the top eight qualifying franchises battle for the crown at the Moama Bowling Club.
Vincent McIlwain’s Traralgon side claimed the championship.

The Moama Steamers side missed out on qualification, finishing third in its qualifying group, with the top two advancing.
Two groups of four played round-robin matches, each tie featuring singles, pairs, triples, and fours contests.

Traralgon Lyrebirds won two of three matches and progressed from section one on points, while in section two, Warrnambool Bulls surged to the final with a perfect 3-0 record.
The final was hotly contested, including a draw in the pairs game, but it was Traralgon that won the triples and fours matchups to claim its first VBL title, 17-57 to 4-51.
