Moama kept its edge atop the Campaspe Playing Area midweek pennant defeating Rochester convincingly in the first round after the Christmas break.

The Steamers won all three rinks in the contest, each by double-digit margins in the 16-87 to 0-48 win.

The Cameron Keenan-led rink was Moama’s most impressive, his side getting up 34-18 over Rochester’s Kaye Barker, while Cassandra Millerick guided her squad to a 27-14 victory over Kevin Hall.
Matt Robertson rounded out the sweep for Moama, defeating Tim Quinlan’s quartet 26-16.

Lead chaser Echuca all but assured itself second place, defeating third-placed rival Kyabram 14-68 to 2-49.
Roma Opie led the best rink for Echuca, her team earning the points 30-15, while Ian Page also put shots on the board for Echuca, winning 22-12 over Kyabram’s Mary-Anne Spizer.

Joe Greco pulled one back for Ky, picking up a 22-16 win over Echuca’s Kerryn Evans.
At Deniliquin, Rich River pushed past the host on the league table, after scoring a 15-60 to 1-49 victory.

Deni’s lone point came courtesy of a drawn rink, with its skip Paul Clear and Rich River rival Bev Trengove unable to be separated 19-all.
However, Rich River had the quality in the other two rinks, with Barry Brown (17-14) and Elizabeth Easther (24-16) locking in the points for their side.

Stanhope was up against it as it battled the lower-ranked Mathoura, but managed to grab the win 13-64 to 3-58.
Peter Myers’ rink was the deciding factor, his squad scoring the biggest margin of the contest, 32-24 over Mathoura’s Peter Holzer.

Peter Pangrazio had a narrow 18-16 win for the Timbercutters, while Stanhope’s Jennifer Crilly and Mathoura’s Raymond Murphy finished locked at 16 shots apiece.
Moama (152) has the lead by 14 points from Echuca, with Kyabram a further 29 points back.
Stanhope rounds out the top four with 88 points, 19 ahead of Rich River with three rounds remaining.

Lower divisions
In division two, Deniliquin RSL topped Rich River 14-64 to 2-38, while Kyabram had the quality to down Rochester 14-63 to 2-46.
Moama swept past Echuca in three close rinks, 16-64 to 0-53.
In division three, Elmore downed Rich River 12-50 to 2-44, while Echuca edged past Deniliquin 12-34 to 2-33 and Kyabram defeated Lockington 13-58 to 1-38.
Moama crushed Ky Valley View 14-72 to 0-24 and Rochester escaped against Tongala, 12-35 to 2-34.
In division four, Echuca beat Kyabram 12-38 to 2-34 and Moama Green got the best of Rich River 12-52 to 2-34.
Moama Black took both rinks over Tongala, 14-46 to 0-21, while Lockington did the same over Stanhope, 14-51 to 0-40.
