Following a draw with Numurkah, Moama has flown back into the winners column with a resounding victory over bottom-feeder Cobram in round eight of Murray Netball League.

It was barely a contest at Scott Reserve court one as Moama held a strong lead for the entire game, starting with a 14-goal first quarter.
Cobram put in a strong effort at the start, goaling eight times in reply to trail by six at quarter-time.

The Magpies backed up their strong start in the second period, finding the net 15 times to balloon out its already solid margin.
Moama’s defence was its ace-in-the-hole, with Abby Larkin, Lisa Drysdale and Ava Richards putting in big shifts and limiting the Tigers to two goals in the lead up to half-time.

The Magpies had their leanest run of goals in the third term, scoring eight, but it didn’t matter as Cobram could only tick over the scoreboard thrice by three-quarter time.
The Tigers’ best scoring effort came down the stretch with the hosts finishing their day with 11 goals, but by that time it was too little, to late.

A whopping 17-goal final frame from Moama blew its opponents out of the water as the visitor clocked a 30-goal advantage by the full-time siren.
The final score was Moama 54 to Cobram 24.

The dominant victory has Moama retain fourth position on the ladder for another week and well in the mix for finals as we hit the halfway point in the season.
The Magpies will have a prime opportunity to extend their joy when they host Echuca United for a Three Jacks Trophy rematch in round nine.
