A berth in the Bendigo-Campaspe-Goldfields weekend premier pennant grand final will be on the line when Moama faces Bendigo East in the preliminary final on Saturday.
But to qualify, the Steamers will need to defy their ill-fated recent finals history, hoping to avoid a second consecutive straight-sets finals exit after falling by 16 shots to Bendigo in last week’s semi-final.
Moama was a 14-shot winner back in round 11 over Bendigo East in their sole encounter of the season and the Steamers will need every bit of that form to topple their opposition, which bundled reigning premier South Bendigo out of the finals race by nine shots last start.
