Echuca product Grace Moyle is representing Victoria Country at the women’s tournament in South Australia, and is tearing up the competition with ball in hand.
The tournament is running from Saturday, January 3 to Sunday, January 11, and as of the end of play on Wednesday, Moyle was topping the competition wicket tally with nine at a tidy average of 6.44.
More impressively, Moyle wasn’t thrown the ball at all in her side’s opening fixture against Western Australia, accumulating her wickets in four games rather than five.
Moyle’s best figures of 4-16 came against Papua New Guinea Lewas, where the Echuca export was making good use of all modes of dismissal.
She took two in two balls at one stage of the innings, with the four wickets coming in four different ways: bowled, caught, stumped and caught and bowled.
With the bat, Moyle has been called on only three times and dismissed just once during those three innings, her best score 25 not out against Western Australia in the second clash between the two states.
Moyle has also been tidy in the field, taking two catches and executing two run outs.
Vic Country was second on the tournament ladder with a 4-1 record, trailing NSW by net run rate.
At the time of writing, Victoria was in the midst of action against Queensland on Thursday, with a further round game to follow against NSW on Friday.
