Struggling Mooroopna was the unfortunate victim as the Murray Bombers made a statement 17.20 (122) to 2.3 (15).
It was a quick start for the visitor at Mooroopna Recreation Reserve, as Echuca kicked the first three goals.
Although Mooroopna got on the scoreboard later in the quarter, the Murray Bombers would take that three-goal lead into quarter-time and extend it further during the second.
A 34-point half-time advantage continued to grow over the second hour as the Cats were held goalless after the main break.
Hugh Byrne and Liam Tenace shared top scoring honours with four goals apiece, while Mitch Wales provided three majors.
Sam Reid’s signature industry around the contest earned him best-on recognition for Echuca.
As Mansfield was also successful at the weekend, the Murray Bombers didn’t improve on their fourth position and finished the season with a 14-4 record.
Echuca now gears up for an elimination final against a surging Shepparton Swans, who downed league-leader Kyabram by 34 points at the weekend to throw the finals race wide open.
The teams met only once this season, in round eight at Princess Park, where the Murray Bombers prevailed in a low-scoring encounter 7.8 (50) to 4.9 (33).
The venue for the crucial clash will be announced by the league during the week.
