Nathalia hit the road on Sunday, visiting Cooma in round 12 of the Goulburn Murray Cricket Women’s competition.

Cooma was looking to grab its first win of the year and looked to be in decent stead after a strong bowling innings.
Abby Favaro starred in both innings, making a half-century and taking four wickets.

Electing to bat first, Nathalia struggled to build partnerships, Cooma finding regular wickets on its way to bowling out the visitor for 115.
Only Abby Favaro (51 not out) was able to really get going, hitting 10 boundaries and raising the bat for 50 in her side’s last over, shortly before she ran out of partners.

Otherwise, Nathalia’s scoring was meandering at best, kept in check by a disciplined Cooma, that also found strike power across its attack.
Co-captain Breanna Baker was the standout, bowling two maidens and taking 3-7 in four overs.

Heather Munro (2-8) was also economical, while Sienna Brennan (2-42) and Evie Dalton (2-22) joined her with two wickets.
Maddisyn Cooper rounded out the balanced Cooma effort, claiming 1-29 as Nathalia was dismissed only 19.5 overs into its 35-over innings.

Unfortunately for the host, its own batters had difficulty scoring when it came time to chase.
An early run out complicated proceedings and the side was quickly in trouble at 3-5.

Baker and Munro formed the innings’ best pairing, both in terms of length and runs scored, partnering for six overs and adding 18 runs.
However, the loss of Munro sparked another spate of wickets and Cooma was bowled out for 32.

Favaro was the difference in the game, adding four wickets to her half-century to get Nathalia over the line, while Nicola Oliver, Isabella Daniel and Courtney Cunningham also struck.
Cooma visits Echuca at its temporary home of Tongala Recreation Reserve in the penultimate round on Sunday, while Nathalia hosts Rochester.
