The Blues are aiming to instigate a big grand final day upset and emulate their triumph of five years ago, the last senior netball flag out of Tongala Reserve.
Standing in their way is a Moama side gunning for its third straight premiership, with the Magpies currently back-to-back reigning premiers of B-grade netball.
The Blues will need to inflict Moama’s first loss of the season if they are to lift the flag, but coach Louie Brennan said her side had the right mixture of experience and youth to get the job done.
“We’ve had a really solid season,” Brennan said.
“We have had a number of new players in the team this year, and we’ve combined well to get through the season with a number of good wins.
“Moama are a really strong team who have been the benchmark. We’ve played them a number of times and were unable to get the win.
“We’re looking forward to putting it all together on Saturday and seeing what we can do.”
Moama has enjoyed 14 and 10-goal triumphs over the Blues this season, including its nine-goal win in the qualifying final.
Tongala’s grit was on show in its 10-goal preliminary final victory over Nathalia, and Brennan believes her team has the dedication to go all the way.
“Our team are a dedicated bunch, they train really hard and work well as a unit which has been one of our strengths,” Brennan said.
“They’re a team of dedicated players who come together to play for each other. We have the right mixture of experience and youth.”
Tongala and Moama are scheduled to go head-to-head in the B-grade grand final from noon.
