The return of weekend pennant bowls in the Campaspe Playing Area had a shake-up in the top two, the placings thrown into doubt ahead of the final four rounds.

Echuca logged maximum points courtesy of the bye and Kyabram did the same over Rochester, the two sides now leading the way after Moama was toppled by a tenacious Stanhope.

Kyabram had the advantage of home greens and recent form over the struggling Rochester side and took full advantage of the opportunity in a 16-65 to 0-42 victory.
The rink led by Paul McInnes was narrowly Kyabram’s best, his squad getting on top of Leslie Walles’ troops 22-11, while Greg Shilling defeated Richard Feuk 25-15.

Skips Robert George and Tim Quinlan battled in a much closer contest, but it was George’s Kyabram quartet that earned the edge, 18-16.
In a massive boilover, season-long ladder leader Moama was not only defeated, but swept, by newly-established contender Stanhope 16-80 to 0-42.

In a measure of revenge for last season’s grand final Stanhope had all the running at the weekend, the leading rink skipped by Timothy Hancock, who picked up a 31-10 victory.
Gregory Fitzpatrick’s team was also dominant, winning 29-13, while the fight between Stanhope’s Robert Ponton and Moama’s Robert Young was more closely-fought, Ponton prevailing by a single shot 20-19.

Mathoura got itself off the bottom of the ladder with a win over Rich River, 14-61 to 2-54.
Peter Holzer’s rink was the standout for the Timbercutters, his quartet grabbing the win 23-15, while fellow skip Mick Humphreys was also successful, 20-14.

Rich River came away with some points thanks to the Gary Radford-led squad, which scored a rink victory 25-18.
Tongala showed intent to make a late play for the top four, downing Deniliquin 13-63 to 3-55.

There wasn’t a heap between the two sides in any of the three rinks, the biggest result that earned by Brad Tinning, who scored points for Tonny 27-16.
Conway Bovell pulled a rink back for Deniliquin 20-17, but with the remaining rink between Tongala’s Conner Trewren and Deniliquin’s Jamie Shields finishing level, 19-all, the overall points swung Tongala’s way.
Echuca and Kyabram surpassed Moama on the table, with Stanhope now lurking a little more than a game back in fourth spot.

Deniliquin was dealt a blow with defeat, but is still within striking distance, while Tongala is still in the conversation, but will need an impressive late surge to feature in the post-season.
Lower divisions
In division two, Moama dominated Rich River 16-75 to 0-36 and Deniliquin got the best of Tongala 14-72 to 2-41.
Echuca defeated Kyabram 14-75 to 2-64 and Stanhope had the bye.
In division three, Deniliquin took down Tongala 15-62 to 1-50 and Echuca edged past Lockington 12-59 to 4-51.
Moama swept Stanhope 16-71 to 0-48, Rich River beat Elmore 14-61 to 2-45 and Kyabram defeated Rochester 14-62 to 2-56.
In division four, Echuca was too strong for Lockington 14-74 to 2-57 and Ky Valley View won out over Tongala 16-60 to 0-44.
Moama took down Deniliquin RSL 14-63 to 2-45, Mathoura outclassed Rich River 14-69 to 2-53 and Kyabram swept past Rochester 16-70 to 0-46.
In division five, Echuca White prevailed in the Echuca derby over Echuca Blue 12-38 to 2-33, while Lockington just escaped against Deniliquin White 12-40 to 2-39.
Moama won over Stanhope 12-50 to 2-29, Rochester survived Kyabram 12-39 to 2-38, while the result between Rich River and Deniliquin Blue wasn’t available.
