Both sides were on the road this week at Echuca Tennis Club, and both fell to an 11 sets to 2 loss to an Echuca side.

Rochester battled Echuca 2 and went down by 96 games to 65.
Josh Boyd and Shaun Trice started things well for the host with singles wins, and the Echuca men continued their role in the doubles games, winning all three men’s pairings.

Rochester’s Kate Lee and Rachael showed some fightback in the women’s doubles, winning their set 8-4, but it was the only one of four that went the visitor’s way.
The mixed doubles were a similar story, three sets to one in Echuca’s favour.

The pairings of Phil and Lucy Higgins and Logan Milnes and Tanya Godfrey tied for best result in the section, scoring 8-3 wins, while Nash Hocking and Karen Taylor were Rochester’s successful duo.
In the other fixture, Echuca 1 was similarly strong against LBU, prevailing 91-62.

Eli Kingma and Nick Bush grabbed singles wins for Echuca to give their side the early edge.
That dominance continued into the men’s doubles, although LBU was able to snag one of the three sets as Grant Humbert and Simon Portwine combined for an 8-3 result.

The women’s doubles proved a clean sweep for Echuca 4-0.
The best pairing was Celine Bush and Mia Aston, the duo logging an 8-3 win.
Echuca closed out the fixture with another three sets to one triumph, with Steve Rawlings and Kate Murray leading the way with a classy 8-2 win.
Humbert and Narelle Bacon paired up for LBU’s lone victory, 8-3.

The two Echuca sides are neck-and-neck at the top of the ladder, both boasting 8-1-1 records.
Rochester (2-1-7) and LBU (0-1-9) lag significantly behind, ahead of reverse fixtures this week.
