In a tribute to the all round effort to improve cricket, a cup has been named after Michael Hodgson (Coleambally) and Mark Favell (Exies Diggers).
The game was played at Wade Park in Hillston as a number of Diggers players originate from Hillston.
Hillston won the toss and decided to bat on a flat hard deck. However, they were not ready for the pace, precision and line and length of the Coly bowlers with Sanil Babu bowling four overs and taking 3/5, Shaun Iddles with 3/19 off four and Sammy Strachan with 2/5 off nine balls.
The Diggers were all out for 49.
The Coly batters made light work of the chase only losing three wickets in 15 overs with Sam Casey the most notable knock of 21 not out.
Best of luck to the side which will look to defend their T20 premiership this Sunday in Griffith when they come up against the Diggers again.
