It was Corowa’s hardest game to date in season 2024 but that didn’t stop them from grinding and pushing out the score line in the second half.
Corowa beat North Albury 47 to 38 in the hot and hard hit out at Fohn Foord Oval last Saturday, to make it three wins from three games.
Attackers had a battle with long arms from North. Nonetheless, the rotations of Corowa’s shooters stayed strong and disciplined.
Despite the speed of North Albury, Roos stayed steady and executed the game plan.

The score didn't reflect the game. There were lots of opportunities to score but with a new look side, the team still needs to iron out some bugs. Bring on the Bulldogs!

C Grade

C grade was another game where the team showed the ability to create clean passages of play and how dynamic they can be in defence.
North Albury converted well on turn overs in the first half leading to an uphill battle.
Corowa’s third quarter was the strongest again as they closed the score line by 6.
Unfortunately in the heat and with consistency from North Albury they couldn’t take home the win.
Jade Lane showed her defensive pressure creating opportunities for her team mates to take intercepts.
Brooke Tilyard was strong in defence calling the play well and bringing the defensive end together.
Victoria Borg played out of position in centre and showed her versatility when needed.

U17s
Corowa Rutherglen 32 def by North Albury 46
17s came out strong and fought hard throughout the game. They went down but kept their heads high and their defensive pressure until the end.
Club 1- Sommers Hogan was outstanding in the defence, she threw herself at every ball which lead into a few intercepts.
Chocolate Factory- Audrey Hogan worked well with Sommers in defence! Audrey kept her defensive pressure throughout the whole game, she had great two hands on the rebounds and getting hands on every ball.
Canteen- Keeley Symonds had an awesome game, she used quick release of the ball into the ring, her drives open and created space for her teammates.
U15s

A heartbreaking loss in the final minutes of this week’s match. Our 15s led with gusto from a powerful starting quarter out of the gates with a whopping 17-10 first-quarter scoreline.
The girls stuck together and worked as a team only losing energy and drive in the final minutes allowing the Hoppers to take the win.
Club 1: Sienna Sampson had a high-energy game in defence, ripping in rebound after rebound and contesting the Hoppers’ forward line.
Sports power: Lilyana Murray-Wright was pivotal in our attack line providing a trusted target for the feeders and shooting at 83%, banking 24 goals for the day.
Ladies committee & MVP: Maddie Ryan played her heart out in the midcourt. She was challenged by physicality and rose to the occasion, adjusting her starting position and prelims to keep her defender at bay.
