There will be a smorgasbord of sport action to enjoy across the region this weekend as all cricket, tennis and bowls will be on at the same time for the final time this year.
It’s an interesting slate of games for round 10 of Goulburn Murray Cricket’s McMahon Shield, as Moama and Echuca South are set to go head-to-head for the second time this season at Echuca South Recreation Reserve.
Kyabram Fire Brigade will take on defending champions Echuca at Northern Oval, Rochester will host Leitchville-Gunbower at Windridge Oval and cellar dwellers Nondies-Cohuna and Tongala will slug it out at Cohuna Recreation Reserve.
Bamawm-Lockington United will enjoy a weekend of rest, having the bye.
In round 10 of the Campaspe Playing Area Weekend Pennant, Moama and Echuca will look to continue their reigns of terror, travelling to Rochester and hosting Tongala, respectively.
Rich River will visit Kyabram on Saturday while Deniliquin will host Stanhope, with Mathoura having the bye.
The Campaspe Tennis Association is hosting a Gather Round on Saturday, December 13 at Echuca Tennis Club before going on break, with division one and two combined teams playing three sets in a mixed combos format.
The entry is $10 per player and participants are encouraged to ‘wear a touch of Christmas’. There will also be a free barbecue, bar, prizes and a raffle.
The round will not count towards competition points for finals but will count towards player qualification for finals.
On Sunday, Goulburn Murray Cricket’s Women’s competition will continue with its round nine.
Echuca and Moama will have a cross-border showdown at Tongala Recreation Reserve and Rochester will host Cooma at Windridge Oval, with both games slated for a 9am start.
Bamawm-Lockington United will make the long journey to Nathalia Showgrounds to face Nathalia, with that game starting at 10am.
