The Bowls Australia national rankings for the 2022-23 season were confirmed on Tuesday, July 4 and Millerick claimed the number one spot after an exceptional year of bowling.
Ranking points are earned through participation in "national events, state championships, state champion of champion (events), and selected club events," and Millerick has raked in her fair share in a stellar stretch.
In April, she emerged as the Victorian state champion of champions winner, going on to achieve a career highlight at the Australian Open last month by winning the women's singles in a thrilling final against Kelsey Cottrell, a star player for the Jackaroos.
Millerick's victory has propelled her to the top of the rankings, surpassing Cottrell.
During the 2022-23 season, Millerick accumulated 301 points, securing the leading position in the Victorian standings as well. Meanwhile, her Bowls Premier League teammate Aron Sherriff claimed the top spot in the male rankings.
In addition to Millerick's accomplishment, Moama-based Olivia Cartwright has also reached an impressive milestone in her bowling career.
Following her victory in the Australian Open fours competition, the 19-year-old has achieved a new career-high national ranking, making her the third-ranked female bowler in Australia.
