Making her debut at the promotion, McMaster faced Belle Berry from Toowoomba and won by a split point decision following three three-minute rounds.
“It was really good to get another win under my belt,” McMaster said.
“It was a challenging fight camp, so it was good to sort of top it all off and I suppose make it worth it with the win, and just to put my name up there with the girls up in Queensland.”
The win was secured through a solid game plan McMaster put together with trainer Kiw Eikkasit, who wanted her to start fast by opening up the first round.
The Muay Thai Lab product was able to inflict early damage, handing Berry a bloody nose, which McMaster felt was key in mentally psyching her opponent out.
“She played the game that I wanted to play, she wasn't as aggressive as I thought she was going to be,” McMaster said.
“She was more patient at the start than what I was thinking, so she really let me implement my own plan, and it paid off in the long run.”
Alongside her win, McMaster was able to experience the rest of the all-female event dubbed A League of Their Own, which sold out on the night as people had to be turned away.
The young fighter felt the crowd was phenomenal and she praised promoter Nakia Wright for her work in putting together what is one of the major promotions of the sport in Australia.
“It was amazing, Nakia and her whole team, she's got a strong team of females all around her,” McMaster said.
“She held the event at her own gym, Double Dose Muay Thai, and from an outsider's perspective you wouldn't know that it was her gym the way she had it set up.
“It was just an amazing show to be a part of and I'm very, very grateful for the experience.”
The Muay Thai League debut represented a fourth professional bout for McMaster, who continues to acclimate to all the various aspects that go into professional fighting, such as monitoring weight for weigh-ins, navigating increased media attention and adapting to the routine on fight day.
McMaster’s professional record now stands at two wins and two losses and she is already booked in for another fight in June, which will take place in Melbourne at another all-female promotion.
