A most successful five-a-side tournament was held on February 18 and 19 and we were fortunate and excited to have world-renowned bowler Alex Marshall competing in a representative team from Moama Bowls Club at our event, who proved to be a great drawcard and promotion for our club.
Teams from around the Campaspe Playing Area along with players and teams from Fitzroy/Doncaster, Tocumwal, Cohuna, Horsham, Hamilton and Shepparton enjoyed the excellent conditions and weather over the two days of competition and we experienced some world-class bowling.
Winners of the event were a combined team of Matt Robertson, Brad Marron, Ben Winther, Mark Quor and Dennis McHarry who shared in the prize money.
A great deal of thanks to our major sponsors, Echuca Moama Physiotherapy and Hilet Constructions who without their support we would not be able to hold such events.
The Ladies’ Prestige Fours Tournament was held on February 23 with 20 teams from around the local Campaspe Playing Area competing.
It proved to be a most successful day played in excellent conditions and enjoyed by all participants.
All smiles: Echuca Moama Physiotherapy’s Nick Sheldon with the winners of the Rich River Bowls Club five-a-side tournament Brad Marron, Dennis McHarry, Mark Quor, Ben Winther and Matt Robertson.
Many thanks to Menarock Life/Allen Court and their representative Wendy Williams for the long term fantastic sponsorship of the day, who without their support we would not be able to hold such tournaments.
Winners of the day were a combined team of Lyn Barker (Rich River), Marie Malone, Joan Armstrong and Anne Vanderkley (Echuca) who shared the prize money.
We are heading into the last round of the pennant season for 2021-22 this weekend and it's likely we will have teams featuring in the finals and from all at Rich River bowls we wish them the very best of luck.
