Under-16 boys

Unfortunately, Rochester's finals campaign began with a loss to Marong.

In windy conditions at White Hills, it was a scrappy game from the start, with both teams finding it difficult to score.

Amon Riordan got the boys off the mark with a long set shot goal, with Cale James soon following suit. However, scoring wasn’t easy from then on.

The midfield group worked tirelessly all day, as did ruckmen Darcey Pump and Jack Brennan. With many inside 50s, the defensive group fought hard, denying Marong several easy goals.

Late goals from Morgan Boyack and Tom McFadzean brought the boys close in the last quarter, however Marong ran away with the game, winning by 24 points.

Due to Rochester finishing on top, its season is still alive. It will take on Kangaroo Flat next week for a spot in the grand final.
