Elsewhere, Moama suffered a narrow loss to Nathalia and Echuca couldn’t get over the top of Katty Tigers.
Playing its first game of the season, BLU won the toss and elected to bowl on its home deck of Bamawm Recreation Reserve against Rochester.
Both of Rochy’s openers Hayley Broucek and Harriet East retired on 19 not out from their 30 balls, while Cadence Major blasted 29 off 24 to lift Rochy to 4-103 off its 20 overs.
The wickets came by committee for BLU, as Amy Fitzgerald, Aurellia Kemp and Shae Christie took a wicket each.
In the second innings, the Lions started off well as Fitzgerald and Bree Styles both retired not out on 20.
Emma Beal chipped in with 11 and Liz Chapman ended on 13 not out as the Lions finished their 20 overs at 2-91, 12 runs short of the total.
Rochy’s Broucek was the only wicket-taker in the win.
Meanwhile, Moama fell to Nathalia which managed to defend its total of 9-78 against the Mowers, who could only muster 8-71.
Electing to put runs on the board early at Nathalia Showgrounds, Abby Favaro played a remarkable hand of 44 not out to steer her side to a respectable score, with Cody Power being the next best with 11 at the top of the order.
Moama’s Jordan Dalziel starred with the ball, taking 4-8 from her four overs.
In the second innings, only Mia Arthurson (12) and Ariel Howe (10 not out) were able to crack double figures in the unsuccessful run chase, falling a tantalising seven runs short.
The combined skill with the ball of Favaro (3-6) and Cody Power (3-8) got Nathalia over the line.
Echuca was well and truly put to the sword by a determined Katty Tigers at Tongala Recreation Reserve on Sunday.
Batting first, none of Echuca’s batters were able to mount much of a fight, with Lucinda McMaster-Sharrock (7 off 30) and Sophie McKee (6 not out off 26) the only two who could hang around.
The girls in green closed out their 20 overs at 8-50 with Christina Roberts and Matilda Iddles taking a pair of wickets each for the Tigers.
In the second dig, it was Iddles again who played a starring role, retiring not out after hitting 21 off her 30 deliveries, while Christina Roberts (7 not out) guided her side home inside 14 overs.
Echuca has the bye in round four, while Moama and Rochester will face off in a T20 classic at Moama Recreation Reserve on Sunday.
