Some fantastic individual performances were witnessed across both winning and losing sides at the weekend, as round 11 of the McMahon Shield saw the final one-day matches completed for the 2023-24 season.

The Rochester opener excelled yet again for his side at the top of the order, blitzing 94 to set his side on the path to a total in excess of 200.
The super talent also finished with the best bowling figures from his side, snaring 3-14 as Rochester bowled Cooma out for 148 to secure its third win on the trot and move to within just two points of the top four.
Joel Murphy (Moama) — 75
The Moama skipper whacked a clinical 75 from 78 balls, starring in an opening partnership worth 109 runs alongside Fraser Buchanan to take the game away from reigning premier Echuca.
Belting 11 fours and clearing the rope on two occasions, Murphy’s cameo with the bat was the difference and allowed Moama to remain unbeaten in the 2023-24 season.
Karim Marcelle (Nondies-Cohuna) — 64 not out
While his side may not have managed to get the win, the Nondies opener carried his bat to finish on 64 not out, giving his side a real chance to steal victory from Echuca South in the final over.
A patient knock from 127 balls, Marcelle was the only batsman to pass 50 from either side, a real standout performance.
Regis Chakabva (BLU) — 58
The former Zimbabwean international continued his stunning stretch at the weekend, raising the bat as he passed 50 for the third week in a row.
With a strike rate of 120.83, Chakabva’s rampant run saw BLU chase down 139 in just 23.3 overs, and in doing so inherited third spot on the ladder.
Fraser Buchanan (Moama) — 57
Buchanan proved pivotal in Moama’s win over Echuca, providing a constant presence at the crease throughout the majority of his side’s chase.
Following an opening stand of 109 runs alongside skipper Joel Murphy, Buchanan batted on to pass 50, before eventually becoming the seventh Moama wicket to fall, just 16 runs shy of the win.
Matt Hinks (Echuca) — 54
Batting at number four, Hinks found himself at the crease in just the fourth over, as Echuca lost two wickets early to find itself on the back foot.
Batted superbly to notch another half-century and salvage a respectable score for the reigning premier, although it wasn’t enough to scrape the win.
Robert Trewin (Cooma) — 51
Counterpunch: Robert Trewin kept Cooma in the game against Rochester, dragging his side into the contest with a half-century before being dismissed.

Trewin’s efforts with the bat made things interesting in Cooma’s clash against Rochester, keeping his side in the game after a disastrous start.
Staring down the barrel at 4-42, Trewin dragged his side past the 100 mark after striking 51 runs at nearly a run a ball, although after his demise the end came relatively quickly for his side.
Dylan Cuttriss (Rochester) — 21 not out and 3-28
The Rochy skipper made an impact with both bat and ball, adding invaluable lower order runs to safely see his side past the 200 total, finishing on 21 not out.
His efforts with the ball were even more impactful, however, snaring 3-28 including the wickets of both Cooma openers as well as opposing captain Jake Kelly to put his side well and truly on top.
Charlie Hinks (Echuca) — 24 and 3-17
Hinks added a quickfire 24 at the tail end of Echuca’s innings, giving his side a little more room to defend after a shaky start against Moama.
He backed it up with the ball, too, finding the breakthrough wicket of Joel Murphy while taking middle order scalps in quick succession to finish with 3-17.
Rory Knight (Tongala) — 3-17
Knight formed one half of a frightening Tongala attack, ripping through the Leitchville-Gunbower top order to have the home side 6-13 early on in proceedings.
Ended with figures of 3-17 from nine overs as L-G was bowled out for 78, securing Tongala’s first win of the season.
Lachlan Caldwell (Tongala) — 3-14
Alongside Knight, Caldwell’s bowling tore Leitchville-Gunbower to shreds, reducing the opposition to 6-13 in just the 14th over.
Ended with Tongala’s best bowling figures from the onslaught, snaring 3-14 with four maidens from his nine overs, and a big reason his side managed to claim the win in such dominant fashion.
